We have a professional Methyl Acetate Plant, where we can provide Methyl Acetate Production. The following is a brief introduction to the preparation process.
Acetic acid and methanol were synthesized with sulfuric acid as catalyst to produce methyl acetate crude products, and then dehydrated with calcium chloride, neutralization of sodium carbonate and the finished product.
Refining method: the main impurities are free acetic acid and methanol because of easy hydrolysis of methyl acetate. The existence of methanol can be seen from its solubility in water. At room temperature, methyl acetate dissolved in water by 24%. If 1% methanol exists, it can be mixed with water. When refined, 85mL acetic anhydride was added in 1000mL of methyl acetate, and then fractionated after 6 hours. Acid impurities can be vibrated with anhydrous potassium carbonate and then distilled. The methanol can also be removed by acetyl chlorination. High purity methyl acetate can be washed with salt water, calcium oxide or magnesium sulfate after drying.
